Buzzard 2nds maintained their position at the top of the Banana Bread Beer Merit table in impressive style on Saturday, beating Bedford Swifts 77 – 7 at Wright’s Meadow.
Scrum half Julian Gallie opened the scoring, adding another try later, plus the solitary try, and conversion, for Bedford when loaned out in the 2nd half. Buzzards throughout the match were excellent in support and this culminated in 2 tries each for captain Ross Bevan and hooker Gary Low, and scores for Adam Stacey and no.8 Keir Wheeler.
The Buzzard pack was dominant and created an excellent platform for the backs, with Ben Savage, at centre, scoring the 2nd try and winger Sam Beaumont gaining a hat-trick. Jake Wheeler kicked well in windy conditions, with 6 conversions.
