Apologies for yet another post but the big events keep coming!
Branching away from the annual lunch, I am happy to announce another Former Players event. At the lunch I had a chat with Ada Stephenson and he has whirred into action and used his considerable influence to reserve a bunch of tee-off times at Leighton Buzzard Golf Club that will enable us to offer the inaugural LBRFC Former Players Golf Day.
This will take place on Saturday 30th May from 1 pm. Being one that hasn’t gone over to the dark side since packing up rugby, I’m not totally au fait with what goes on at this type of event but Ada assures me they can be good fun.
If you are interested please mail Ada directly, NOT ME!!. His email address is Ada-Stephenson@sky.com. He has already floated the date to his own WhatsApp group which contains a number of LBGC members with rugby club connections, so I am aware some of you may already know of this.
Ada has already spoken with the club regarding providing a feed for all those that have wandered through wooded countryside for 3 hours waving their golf bats around. The entry fee will be decided when a better idea of numbers is known. The format and handicapping is yet to be decided but Ryder Cup points will be available.
