Buzzard Colts made the short journey to Milton Keynes RUFC U18 to gain valuable playing experience. Led out by the captain Reece Payne, playing hooker, the packs were evenly matched. Lent a prop by MK and LJ Green as tight-head, U16s Hayden Jones and Max Green comprised the 2nd row, with George Burr at no.8.
The wet, cold, muddy conditions lent itself to forward play but it was the backs that took the game to Milton Keynes. George Pratt, at scrum half kept the phases going, with the backs Ollie Gronert, Louis Beer, John Fudge and Julian Gallie (U16) all scoring tries. Rhys and Dane Richards also made significant breaks and were unlucky not to score. Max Green (U16) also showed his pace to score. Shutting down Milton Keynes in the second half, Buzzards ran out as the winners 58-17.
The MK coach named Ollie Gronert as player of the day with Louis Beer highly commended. The game was played in a highly competitive, but friendly atmosphere and Buzzards were appreciative of the invitation from Milton Keynes RUFC.
