AGM Changes

Following the Annual General Meeting of the members of Leighton Buzzard RFC Ltd. yesterday, the following Officers have been elected for the coming year:
Mark Hardy has decided to step down as President of the club after 26 years. He will remain a very active member of the Board of Directors and will hold the office of Company Secretary and the Honorary title of Life President in recognition of the work and service to the club that Mark has given.
Gordon Fletcher will step into the President’s role after 7 years as club Chairman and will now focus on the re-invigoration of the club’s Business Plan and the development of the club moving forward.
Lee Beaumont was elected as Chairman of the club following some 20 years as Honorary Secretary and as Company Secretary since the club became Incorporated. Lee will work closely with other Officers and members of the club on the day-to-day running of the club and will help to steer it through it’s next phase.
Stuart Trotter has taken on the role of Director of Rugby and will be working closely with all sections of the playing side of the club to increase participation of the sport we all love. Stuart will be working particularly closely with Kevin Street, who is now the Mini & Junior Chair to look at maintaining and building on our position as the local rugby club of choice for Leighton Buzzard and the surrounding area, they will also be looking particularly closely at the transition from Youth into Senior rugby.

Rugby clubs across the country, and indeed the world, are feeling the pinch in an ever more challenging environment and so we feel that by making these personnel changes we are able to focus on where we as a club want to go and how we go about doing so.

We wish all of the Officers of the club luck in their endeavours and know that the club membership will support them in their endeavours to meet the clubs aim of being a ‘World class family rugby club’.
