All Rugby Suspended, Club Statement

Following the directive from the RFU sent out on Monday 16th March, and a meeting of several executive members of the committee and Board of Directors last night the following has been decided.

All rugby activity, at all levels, is suspended until the 14th April subject to review by the RFU and we will strictly adhere to this directive.

The clubhouse will be shut until the 14th April, subject to weekly review by the executive.

Event organisers for existing bookings that we have at the club will be contacted separately by the Club Steward.

There will be limited use of the Gym permitted for club members over the age of 18, and the opening times for this will be:

Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 6pm to 9pm & Saturday 2pm to 5pm.

If you use the Gym, then please sanitise all equipment before and after use. Sanitizer will be available. The showers and Bar will however, not be available.

Unfortunately, due to the uncertainty that we currently face, we have taken the decision to cancel this year’s Summer Ball, and all Table Heads will be contacted separately and deposits returned.

These decisions have not been taken lightly, but we are following Government and RFU advice and directives for the safety and well-being of all of our club users, and we hope that you will support us in these difficult times.

We will be using this enforced closure as a positive opportunity to bring forward low cost tasks in a couple of areas around the clubhouse that usually have to wait for the closed season; hopefully you will notice the difference.

So, when we are able to open the doors again, we hope you will return to us and once again enjoy your rugby club.

If anyone has any questions then please do contact me directly and I will try my best to answer as soon as I am able.

I will hope to provide regular, official updates via email and through our website and official social media outlets as the situation develops in order to avoid any confused or speculative messaging that seems to pervade at these times.

Please stay safe, and look after yourselves and each other!
