After several weeks of training, the newly formed Buzzard Junior Academy, incorporating the U13 and U14 squads had their first matches of the season.
It was clear from the off that the hours on the training ground were going to pay dividends, with the U14 squad….bolstered by a couple of U13 players playing up an age group, soon getting the better of their opposition, St Neots.
Although the Buzzard Juniors were a little slower to the breakdown and maybe not as competitive as we would have liked, they still somehow managed to retain or win the ball and then spread it wide to the backs who were exceptional in their running, passing and support play.
Tries from Ellis, Tom (2), Dylan (2) and Luca(2), with 1 conversion each from Jack and Harry, made for the final score-line of 39 – 5.
Special mention must go to Jack and Sam who made the step up from U13 and didn’t look out of place at all.
