Junior Academy 2016 - 17

Junior Academy v MK 27th November 2016

The Junior Buzzards made their way to Emerson Valley in Milton Keynes on Sunday morning for another Junior Academy fixture. Having agreed to play four 15 minute quarters to allow for maximum game play for everyone, the match started.

MK fielded their ‘B’ team in the first half, with Buzzards soon dominating in all areas of the game. The ball was recycled time and time again and the tries came thick and fast. With the Buzzard players and interchanges being carefully managed by the coaches, players from both age groups made an extremely valuable contribution to a 49-0 first half score line.

Following the break, MK put on a much stronger ‘A’ side, which made for a more even-sided affair. The Buzzards fought well for every bit of possession and eventually wore down the MK defence, running in 3 unanswered tries, to take the second half 19-0.

This was a good test for the newly formed Junior Academy set-up at Buzzards and one that shows how effective it is turning out to be.
Next week, the younger members of the Academy have a fixture of their own vs Luton, and the experiences so far playing with the older boys should stand them in good stead to perform well.
