Datchworth 14 Leighton Buzzard Colts 47
The Colts rounded off 2025 with a fine win at Datchworth in the league. Despite losing two of the starters late last night, the reshuffled back line gelled well and an early try helped the boys into a 15-7 lead at half time. In the second half, the boys started using the plays more and despite some fine rugby from our hosts, finished the game as 47-14 winners, with 7 different players sharing our 9 tries. Forward of the game was George for a display of leadership and character with his carrying a constant problem for our opponents. The back of the day was shared by Finlay at full back and David at 10 for their fine work in attack and particularly in defence.
Oundle 5 Leighton Buzzard Under 15s 26
U15s away to Oundle. Very soft under foot so was going to be hard slow match, but the boys stood up.
Oundle had a great defence and swatted several early ventures close to their line, but we kept up the pressure and trying different routes, we were rewarded and went in to half time a nervously close 5-12.
Kept telling them that effort would win the day, and they took it to half, having to sub a couple that had given their lot, with some more fresh legs the second half was ours, continually pinning them in their 22 and resulted in a couple great tries desire their great defence. Match ended 5-26, so some Buzzard retaliation to the 1st loss there last week…
Bugbrooke 24 Leighton Buzzard Under 16’s 24
U16s had a draw that absolutely feels like a loss. After a first half that saw the Buzzards have more territory, we went in at 5-5. Bugbrooke then scored an unconverted try to lead 10-5. Finally the u16s woke up and played their game, scoring 3 really well worked tries, with 2 converted. Going into the last 5 minutes the Buzzards were leading 10-24, and switched off. Tackles missed, and support slowed, letting Bugbrooke score 2 converted tries to level the game. 😞

Fledglings also had a great day out at Bletchley today fun had by all, their first away ‘fixture’ great turn out and did the club proud! We have some fantastic talent coming through
