Minis match report 2018-2019

‘Young Buzzards have a spring in their step’

It’s been both a bruising and fragmented start to 2019 in terms of the tough fixtures against MK & Luton and the adverse weather disrupting training and fixtures. However, under blue skies Buzzards Under 12’s put in a performance that showed some of their early season form. The squad was low in numbers but high in spirits and the boys in blue and white put in an strong performance against Olney at Wright’s Meadow. Head coach Harry Charter described the collective effort in one word, ‘quality’. He couldn’t fault the boys and praised their intelligent kicking (perhaps taking inspiration from recent England performances) and also pointed to their dominant tackling, something that had been worked on in recent training sessions. The squad demonstrated a calm, collected and mature approach to the match which has be evident to all supporters earlier in the season with contributions from all players.

Tries were shared across the team with Jack Charter, Edward Halsey, Charlie Rumens, Sacha Page and Joe Chapman touching down for Buzzards.

Next Sunday we are on the road and look forward to our first fixture against Fullerians RFC in Watford.
